We love a good DIY project, which is why we’re not letting this one out of our sight! Sarah Howard (from the blog Beauty Banter) breaks it down for us - giving us the insider scoop on how to create your own organic DIY Sugar Lip Scrub.
So, how does one do it?
(All photos courtesy of Honestly…WTF’s AWESOME DYI Lip Scrub post. Thanks for the inspiration girls!)For those of you who make lists, you’ll need: 1 tbsp pure coconut oil 1 tbsp honey 2 t brown sugar a mixing bowl an empty jar or 2.5 oz baby food jar labels (optional)
DIY step #1: Mix the coconut oil and honey together in a small bowl.
"The consistency should look like thick honey-comb honey. Make sure to mash up all of the coconut lumps so that the mixture is clump-free. This will serve as the base of the scrub."
DIY step #2: Add your two teaspoons of brown sugar to the gooey mixture.
"Brown sugar not only tastes fantastic, it is also a great natural exfoliant because it’s not too harsh and leaves skin soft to the touch. All of the brown sugar should be coated in the coconut oil and honey base."
DIY step #3: Once the brown sugar is thoroughly mixed, transfer the freshly made balm into a small glass jar. It’s that easy! Now you can safely brave the cold AND protect those lips of yours during the cold winter months.
Thank you ladies at Honestly…WTF for their AWESOME DYI Lip Scrub inspiration!
